Happy New Year!

It's that time again... Resolution time. In some ways I'm excited, and in some ways I'm depressed. Another year gone and several goals (ok...most of them) remain unfulfilled... so I'm trying again.

What's my plan this year? It's to improve my life and the lives of my family. I figure by working on myself and becoming a happier person it will, in turn, help my family become happier. As the saying goes, "When mama's happy, everyone's happy. When mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy." This is beyond true!!! So, here are my ways for mama to become happier:

*Get serious with Weight Watchers and drop some of this excess baggage. My overall goal is 80 pounds, but right now I'm focusing on 10 pounds at a time (my previous goal was 90 lbs, but I've dropped 10 so far...so at least I'm on my way). My goal for the next 10 pounds to be off is March 1st (giving me a healthy weightloss of about a pound a week). Other small goals for my weightloss journey are to make sure I get my dairy in each day, drink my water, cut WAY down on the diet soda (I know my kidneys will thank me), and get more protein in my diet (preferably from nonanimal sources since I eat enough meat as it is)

*Work on my spiritual wellbeing. Read the lesson ahead of time so I'll have something to say during class discussions on Sunday. Read the scriptures more than it takes to prepare my lesson for Sunday.

*Get back to planning meals and shopping around the plan to not only save money but so I'll actually cook! We need to eat out less and eat less Lean Cuisine's at home.

*Actively pay more attention to my husband. He needs more attention than I've been giving him for awhile. I need to work on becoming a better companion to him.

*Work on better housekeeping. My goal is to have the family room picked up, counters cleared/wiped and dishes loaded into the dishwasher before bed every night. It's a start, right?

*Spend less time online each day. During the week I'm going to try to keep my online activities to after Daniel goes to bed. I have better things to do with my time!

Sound good? Great. Ready? Set... GO!!!
